For each of our patients, different diagnoses are made due to their clinical history and what they need at that time. We specialize in a personalized treatment for each of them.

deep teeth cleaning

Also known as scaling and root planing, it involves the removal of accumulated plaque and tartar from below the gum line and around the roots of the teeth.

periodontal surgery

In more advanced cases of periodontal disease, surgery may be necessary to remove inflamed or damaged tissue, regenerate lost bone, or correct defects in the periodontium.

Periodontal maintenance:

After treatment, a regular periodontal maintenance program is recommended to control disease and prevent recurrence.

What is Periodontics?

Periodontics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases that affect the supporting tissues of the teeth, known as the periodontium. This includes the gums, the alveolar bone that surrounds the tooth roots, the periodontal ligament, and the dental cementum. The periodontium is crucial for dental health, as it provides structural support to the teeth and helps keep them firmly in place. However, different factors can cause periodontal diseases that affect the health of the periodontium.

Most common diseases in Periodontics?

The most common periodontal diseases are gingivitis and periodontitis.

Gingivitis: It is an inflammation of the gums caused mainly by the accumulation of bacterial plaque around the teeth and along the gum line. Common symptoms include red, swollen, and bleeding gums.

Periodontitis: It is a more advanced form of periodontal disease in which inflammation spreads to the tissues and supporting structures of the teeth. Periodontitis causes the gradual destruction of the alveolar bone and periodontal ligament, which can lead to tooth loss if not properly treated.
